The Red & Golds have also signed Ivan Gonzalez, Alex Lima and Cleiton Silva.

East Bengal are making a flurry of signings as their opener against the Indian Navy on August 22nd in the Durand Cup 2022 inches closer. Their latest acquisitions are Brazilian striker Eliandro and Cypriot defensive midfielder Charalambos Kyriakou. They join the other foreigners in the Red and Gold roster - Ivan Gonzalez, Alex Lima, and Cleiton Silva. Each of these three foreigners have prior ISL experience.

The Red and Gold fans have earned this window of respite after seeing their side field suboptimal teams for the last two seasons. Since their inclusion in the cash-rich Indian Super League, East Bengal have finished ninth and eleventh.

After the Emami Group were unveiled as the new investors, the Kolkata-based club has gone from strength to strength in forming a competitive squad.

32-year-old striker Eliandro has plied his trade for over fifteen clubs in countries like Brazil, Malta, Lithuania, and Thailand. He last played his football for Thai first division club Samut Prakan City. He recorded three goals and three assists for them in 15 games in the Thai League.

With the foreigners set to arrive in Kolkata over this week and the next, Stephen Constantine will be looking forward to getting them together with the group. The Red and Gold army have been training under the watchful eyes of the ex-national team head coach and Bino George for the past week.
