Sony Pictures Networks acquire rights to broadcast J1 League in India
Sony Pictures Networks' broadcast territories include India and seven other countries.
J.League has announced that it has reached an agreement with Sony Pictures Networks on the broadcasting of the 2021 Meiji Yasuda J1 League in India.
Live broadcasts of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League will be available from Sec.18 on June 19, on Sony Ten 2 (paid) and SonyLIV (OTT), in a total of eight countries - India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The number of overseas viewers of the Meiji Yasuda J.League and the number of overseas countries and regions where it is broadcast is continuing to grow, centered on Asia. Following the agreement with Sony Pictures Networks India, Meiji Yasuda J.League will now be available in over 60 countries and regions worldwide.
Further announcements may follow soon, upon determination of additional regions and broadcasters for the league.

About J1 League
Meiji Yasuda J1 League is the top division of Japan's Meiji Yasuda J.League. It is also one of the most successful and popular leagues in Asian football. Over the years, legendary footballers like Andres Iniesta, Lukas Podolski, Diego Forlan and so on have played in the league.
In May 2021, former Barcelona star Iniesta signed a two-year contract extension at J1 League outfit Vissel Kobe. He was tied down to fresh terms that will now see him remain at the club till 2023.
The ongoing 2021 Meiji Yasuda J1 League is the 29th season of the league since its establishment in 1993. The season began on February 26, and will end on December 4, 2021. Kawasaki Frontale are currently leading the table with 55 points from 21 games, followed by Nagoya Grampus and Yokohama F. Marinos at second (37 points) and third place (34 points).
