The Spanish giants look to lift the Gabon international away from the Gunners’ woes in the Premier League.

In a latest, Real Madrid are considering a heavyweight move for Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the upcoming window. Interestingly, the deal with Aubameyang, reportedly involves Los Blancos’ young forward Luka Jovic, too.

Jovic was roped in by the Spanish giants back in the summer by the 21 year-old failed to make his mark at the club. In his 11 appearances for the club so far, the Serbian international has seen himself just once on the scoresheet.

A report from the Express, therefore states that the club has taken interest in the Gunners’ in-form forward. Aubameyang on the other hand has been on a superb run this season with 10 goals in 14 appearances in the Premier League. Only Jamie Vardy and Tammy Abraham exceed his goal tally in the league meaning he is the third top scorer at the moment.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are currently witnessing a quite forgettable time in the Premier League, being without a win in their last five games. Their disappointing run of results has already seen former boss Unai Emery face the sack.

Freddie Ljungberg, who has taken over the charge ever since Emery’s dismissal, too is yet to see the team win. With all that going, Aubameyang remains the shining star in the team, performing constantly at his best.

His odd predicament, though, has not alarmed the officials at Real Madrid who are constantly keeping tabs on his movement.

According to the report from Express, a source states, “We know that Aubameyang has been stalling on extending his contact at Arsenal. We know he is one of the best paid players at the club.”

“And obviously at present you could argue he is at a club that doesn’t fit his performance levels on the field in terms of his ability to put goals away.”

“The interesting bit of information I have on this is that Real Madrid I believe are trying to float Luka Jovic into the deal.”

The upcoming winter transfer window is at the corner and a swap deal involving Jovic and Aubameyang might not seem that bad an option for the Gunners. “It would bring Arsenal’s wage bill down and solve the problem that Arsenal might have of a disgruntled forward and a player that has been very prominent in their team,” says the source.
