RoundGlass Punjab U-15 side crowned JSW Youth Cup champions

The senior side made a fifth-place finish in the I-League

RoundGlass Punjab FC won the final match in the U-15 edition of the JSW Youth Cup on Monday, defeating Sports Odisha by a 1-0 scoreline in Bellary, Karnataka. Stephen Ngurchhuanmawia scored the only goal of the game, as the Club added another trophy to its kitty after winning the U-18 category of the competition in March.

The tournament consisted of teams from five of the best residential academies across India. RoundGlass Punjab FC, playing an inspiring brand of football in every game, reached the semi-final after victories against FC Goa (7-0) and Reliance Foundation Young Champs (2-0) in the group stage. The entry to the final was secured with a 3-0 victory against Bengaluru FC.

Nikolaos Topoliatis, Football Director, RoundGlass Punjab FC, said, "We are proud that RoundGlass Punjab FC produced excellent performances in all three editions of the prestigious JSW Youth Cup this season – coming first in the U18s and U15s and runner-up in the U13 category. I thank everyone who supported the team, and we hope to keep building on these results."

RoundGlass Punjab Football Academy is a fully-residential facility in Mohali, Punjab with best-in-class amenities such as hostel, kitchen, learning centre, medical facility, gym, and recreation room. It aims to nurture young athletes by focusing on their Wholistic Wellbeing.

RoundGlass Punjab FC's senior side recently ended their I-League 2021-22 campaign in the fifth position of the table. In the process, the club played 18 matches which included the play-off stage as well. Ed Engelkes' side won eight games, drew four matches and lost six of them. At the start of the season, they had bagged in Ashley Westwood as their new coach.

But in March, the club parted ways with the tactician and Dutchman Engelkes took charge of the side. On paper, RoundGlass Punjab FC had one of the best squads in the I-League.
