This is a move to focus on the youth development at the club.
Kerala Blasters has announced the appointment of Rajah Rizwan as the club’s new Academy and Women’s Team Director. Rizwan will have overall leadership and responsibility for the strategy and operations across all academy functions. This appointment will be an addition to the work already undertaken in recent years by the management to create the structures, processes and culture to deliver sustained success on the pitch.
With Rizwan’s addition, there will be a greater focus on further streamlining the youth structure at Kerala Blasters. This will include deeper integration of the GV Raja Sports Academy and Young Blasters programs into the club’s academy pathway, in line with the club’s direction and vision.
In addition to the Kerala Blasters academy, Rajah Rizwan takes on a new role to lead the development, implementation and launch of the Kerala Blasters Women’s Team further in the year.
"I am extremely happy and proud to have joined Kerala Blasters. This is a very exciting moment for me. I am aware of the expectations, I know the level and the stature of the Club and what it deserves and I am ready for that challenge. I have already started working and got familiarized with everyone at the club. The enthusiasm and culture are excellent, so it is giving me more energy and I feel extremely happy about it. I want to thank the club for the opportunity and trust shown in me and I sincerely believe that we can achieve the goals together to make all the stakeholders proud." said an elated Rajah Rizwan.
"I would like to share my biggest congratulations to Rizwan after he replaced the former director and took charge of our academy. In addition to that, he will be taking care of the women's team. We have so many things to do in these sectors, so I'm very happy to move forward together with such an ambitious professional like Rajah Rizwan." said Karolis Skinkys, Sporting Director of KBFC.
In his new role, Rajah Rizwan will report to Kerala Blasters Sporting Director, Karolis Skinkys and will work closely with the Academy Technical Director, Tomasz Tchorz, and the rest of the academy staff.
