The full-back also has suitors in three other ISL clubs and the option to extend his stay with the Blues.
Having signed Albino Gomes from Odisha FC, Kerala Blasters are now determined to bring in highly-rated full-back Nishu Kumar. The Bengaluru FC player is a target for several clubs in the transfer window including Mumbai City FC, Jamshedpur FC and Hyderabad FC. Moreover, the Blues are themselves hoping to retain Kumar who has been with them for the past three seasons. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] However, a source close to the developments has told Khel Now that the Blasters have offered a bumper deal for Kumar. The amount involved in the bid is something the player cannot simply refuse, although he remains focused on the ongoing campaign with the Blues. Kerala Blasters are hoping to persuade Nishu to put pen to paper for them. Interestingly, with the offer they have made, the 22-year-old can potentially become one of the highest paid Indian defenders in the league. Nishu Kumar has been among the top full-backs in the country despite his young age. His ability to play at both right-back as well as left-back makes him a coach's dream. In his debut season in the ISL for Bengaluru FC, he caught the attention of many with bright displays. Later, following Subhasish Bose's move to Mumbai City FC in 2018, Kumar established himself as a crucial first-team player under Carles Cuadrat. His defensive statistics too were impressive leading him to feature for the Indian national team regularly. Meanwhile at Kerala Blasters, the team lacks a reliable figure at full-back and Nishu's addition can prove vital for them. Moreover, it would be interesting to see him play in tandem with fellow full-back and the in-form Jessel Carneiro in the Blasters' defence.Latest News
