Neymar set to stay at Paris Saint-Germain after talks for return to Barcelona break down
The Brazilian had been linked with a return to Spain throughout the summer transfer window.
Neymar’s dream move back to FC Barcelona has apparently hit a roadblock and it seems the Brazilian playmaker is set to stay at his current employers, Paris Saint-Germain.
It is understood that the latest offer made by the La Liga giants has been rejected by the Ligue 1 outfit, which means that the former Santos player will stay put in France and honor his contract at the club.
PSG were unwilling to accept any offer below their valuation of the 27-year-old despite the player himself willing to pay around €20 million to push the move to conclusion. Reports coming out of France revealed that the current French league champions would accept the offer that was made which included €100 million transfer fees upfront plus Ousmane Dembele and Nelson Semedo in a cash plus player deal.
Furthermore, when that offer was not accepted either, Barca made a last attempt to bring back Neymar to the Camp Nou when they offered €200 million plus defender Jean-Clair Todibo, midfielder Ivan Rakitic and Ousmane Dembele on a season-long loan.
However, the move has not materialised and the talks have apparently broken down between the two clubs. The interest in signing Neymar, who is clearly unsettled at PSG was high in this window. Apart from Barcelona, there were inquiries from Real Madrid and Juventus as well, but both sides failed to match his valuation which is set at approximately €200 million.

His long spells on the sidelines due to injuries has not helped his cause either, as an ankle injury has kept the player out of preseason games and the opening games of the league as well. The attacker is soon to depart to join the Brazil squad for the international break, after which he will resume playing for PSG where he has scored 51 goals in 58 appearances.
