The Red Devils are desperate to make a new marque signing in the last few days of the transfer window
Manchester United finally seemed to be on their way back to the top of the European game under Ole Gunnar Solskjær. The club signed Jadon Sancho, Raphaël Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo last summer and looked set to challenge for the Premier League title for the first time in a long while.
But, fast forward just 12 months and the club have a new manager, Erik ten Hag, and are at the start of yet another rebuild. The club have only managed to sign Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martínez. They have failed to land the manager's number one target Frenkie de Jong. The Red Devils have also lost their opening two league games and are currently bottom of the Premier League table. They face Liverpool next and could be well on their way to three successive league defeats.
The yellow and green protest is at an all-time high and reports suggest that the Glazers may finally be open to selling the club. Former Manchester United director Michael Knighton is ready to launch a bid to buy the club. While lifelong Manchester United fan Sir Jim Ratcliffe is also reportedly interested in making a takeover bid. The club are in turmoil and there are a lot of things taking place outside the club and within the club.
On the transfer front, the club seem desperate to make a marquee signing in the last few weeks of the transfer window. Real Madrid's star midfielder Casemiro is on the club's watchlist. While reports suggest that the club had a bid rejected for Atletico Madrid forward João Félix. The club are still after a backup goalkeeper, a new midfielder, a new striker and a backup right-back.
