Akshat Joshi wins Apollo Tyres' Manchester United quiz contest
The event saw the presence of former Red Devils Luis Saha and Mikael Silvestre.
How many Manchester United fans can claim that they were on Louis Saha or Mikael Silvestre’s team? The finalists of the Apollo Tyres’ #AllAboutSports quiz can!
The Grand Finale of Apollo Tyres’ #AllAboutSports quiz was a thriller from start to finish. It had two tie-breakers, unexpected comebacks, and reasoned out answers. Manchester United fans representing the Official Supporters Club from Kerala, Delhi-NCR, Jaipur and Nepal went head-to-head. Also, United legends Louis Saha and Mikael Silvestre were present. Incidentally, the Quiz Master was Azeem Banatwalla, a Man Utd fan himself.
In the first round, the participants used their knowledge about Manchester United as they competed on ‘What’s wrong with the match details’. This was followed by ‘Who said it’ (iconic quotes by legends) and ‘Who am I’ (guessing the players from their professional and personal details). Louis Saha and Mikael Silvestre also helped the contestants on the trickier ones. From questions on whether David Beckham took ballet lessons, to remembering Shinji Kagawa’s hattrick the fans faced all sorts of questions.

After a tightly contested tie-breaker, Akshat Joshi from Jaipur and Nikunj Saboo from Delhi-NCR, emerged as the top two. As a result, they went ahead to the Grand Finale. They each teamed up with one of the legends and allowed to discuss each question as a team. The teams had to name ‘All The Scorers’ from the unforgettable Manchester United matches. They also had to guess the ‘Missing Player’ from line-ups. Ably supported by their teammates, there was not a lot separating the two finalists, as there was another tie-breaker. At the end, Akshat Joshi emerged as Manchester United’s Alpha Fan!
The legends chose the four finalists after three qualifier rounds and two semi-finals. The ApolloXSports Instagram page hosted all these events including the Grand Finale. The quiz received great traction across all social media platforms, with over 1.2 million impressions, 220K+ views, 93K+ engagements across all platforms.
