Mohammedan Sporting Club rallied to hold Sports Authority of India (East Zone) 1-1 in a round 3 Kolkata Zone encounter of the U-18 I-League on Tuesday at Mohammedan Sporting Ground. Both the teams started off with caution however Mohammedan SC was more organized in attack but could not able to penetrate into rival box as the SAI defenders done well to keep the strike pair of Sachin Singh and Jitender Jaiswar in check. In the 24th minute Sachin almost put Mohammedan SC ahead but his effort from Rajat’s pass was denied by the rival custodian. The hosts was made to rue that missed opportunity as SAI took the lead just three minutes later through Abhisek. Mohammedan SC, in the remainder of the half, tried hard for the equalizer, but failed to penetrate into the rival box as the half ended 0-1. Mohammedasn SC put up an aggressive performance in the second half as they attacked the rival goal by pushing high up. The pressure paid off as the hosts equalized in the 55th minute when Rajat headed home from Kalimuddin Sheikh's cross. Thereafter, either teams engaged in an end to end battle but couldn’t find the winner as the game ended 1-1.
