NorthEast united FC owner John Abraham met Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal yesterday at his office in Dispur. A true lover of the game and former Union Sports Minister Sonowal conveyed his best wishes to Abraham for his side’s campaign in the upcoming edition of the Indian Super League. NEUFC will play their first match on October 1 at Sarusajai Indira Gandhi Stadium against Kerela Blasters. “North East United FC, the Highlanders will come in to the third edition of ISL with attractive and attacking football,” Abraham said. Abraham, who was recently appointed as the brand ambassador of one of the North East India’s most beautiful state – Arunachal Pradesh has very high expectations from his side this year. NEUFC finished fifth in the league last year pushing some giant forces of Indian football to the bottom. The Chief Minister was also presented with a special NEUFC jersey by the actor.
