Odisha FC Cs Mumbai City FC Ratings: Narayan, Vinit stars of the night
(Courtesy : ISL Media)
The game helped the hosts climb up to the fourth place in the league standings.
Odisha FC are slowly making the Kalinga Stadium their fortress as Josep Gombau's men bag another crucial three points after defeating Mumbai City 2-0.
Two second-half strikes from Aridane Santana and Xisco Hernandez meant Odisha FC climbed over Mumbai City to take the fourth position. Gombau will look to keep the momentum going as it was a solid display from the hosts.
Here are the Indian Player Ratings from the match:-
Odisha FC
Shubham Sarangi- 7.0
The youngster has grown leaps and bounds in his new position and looks like a serious contender to raise national team selection questions. Sarangi kept Serge Kevyn at bay on the left flank and the winger had no impact for the majority of the game. Even while venturing forward he had a good understanding with Jerry and it was yet another solid display.
Gaurav Bora- 6.0
The Odisha FC defender put up a decent performance against Mumbai City but was not as good as his team's overall defence. He played the out from the back with aplomb but had some issues with his positioning where Delgado came to his rescue. Bora has that potential and will only improve in future matches.
Narayan Das- 7.5
The experienced defender showed all his maturity and did not allow the likes of Amine Chermiti and Modou Sougou any space to get in behind. Das was heckled at times especially blocking someone of Sougou's strength but did not allow him any opening from where he can be dangerous. Even going forward he created two chances which show his productivity as a player.
Vinit Rai- 7.5
The young midfielder has blossomed under the tutelage of Josep Gombau and recently scored his first goal in ISL history. Well, he continued that form to this game as well. Winning possession and retaining it and allowing the likes of Xisco and Jerry to run in behind the Mumbai defence.
Jerry Mawihmingthanga- 7.0
There aren't many Indian players doing better than Jerry at the moment in this edition of the ISL. The confidence in his approach is evident in his body language and his overall growth has been sensational. Something Igor Stimac can benefit if he picks the youngster for the national team. Another great performance but the youngster missed the golden opportunity to add to his tally and put the cherry on the cake.
Nandhakumar Sekar- 6.5
A good all-round performance from the man from Tamil Nadu as he has been one of the most consistent players in this Odisha FC side. Although he does not get as much credit as Jerry but Nandha has been an integral part of this Odisha side. He created two chances and also tracked back to help his fellow defenders.
Substitutions
Lalchhuanmawia Fanai- 6.0
Came in for Jerry in the last ten minutes of the game and immediately added that extra energy to the Odisha's gameplay. Fanai almost got at the end of a brilliant delivery from Narayan Das in the box but failed to connect his header properly.
Bikramjit Singh- N/A
Came in for Vinit late in the dying minutes of the match to add more energy and steel at the middle of the park. But hardly made any meaningful impact.

Amrinder Singh- 5.5
The custodian did not have a performance to be proud of. Amrinder is known for his ability to guide his defence from the back but today it was missing as the backline looked very disorganized with little to no understanding. He made some saves but there were issues with his judgement throughout the match.
Sarthak Golui- 5.0
Was not at his best and looked a bit tired and jittery and allowed the Odisha FC forwards acres of space in the final third. Golui was also caught out of position at times.
Pratik Chaudhuri- 4.5
Nothing different than the whole Mumbai City FC defence which was atrocious at times. Chaudhuri had similar issues like Sarthak and had little to no understanding with Mato Grgic.
Subhashish Bose- 4.5
An off day at the office for Subhashish Bose, who has been the mainstay for the Islanders this season on the left-back spot. However, he looked very shaky with his movement and reacted late to some of the loose balls. Be it Jerry or Xisco, Bose simply could not resist any of the onslaughts from the hosts. Was injured at the hour mark and was subbed off.
Raynier Fernandes- 6.0
One of the better performers in a drab outing for the Islanders. Raynier was lively with his passing and precision and he did put in a shift both in defence and in the attack. However, he could not impose himself in the middle of the park as much as he would have liked to with his creativity.
Rowllin Borges- 5.5
Not at his usual best, could not do much as his team lacked the tenacity and the intent to win the game. Borges had an average game to say the least but he could not impose himself as he does on the good days. But with 72% passing accuracy, four clearances and two interceptions aren't too shabby for the Goan.

Valpuia- 5.0
The Mizo fullback came in for Subhashish Bose and could not do anything path-breaking, as Odisha imposed themselves further and increased the lead. He was also booked for a reckless challenge.
Bidyananda Singh- 4.5
Bidyananda has recently been featuring for the Islanders as an impact substitution but the decision of replacing one of the best players on the pitch in Raynier, especially being a goal down will raise questions. The 22-year old could not create any chance and did not see much of the ball.
Bipin Singh- N/A
The Islanders were already down and out and it was little too late for Bipin Singh, as he made no impact whatsoever.
