Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: I don't think we could force anyone to play

The 47-year-old also revealed that he believes the experts will know when it's safe to play again.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has assured that he would not force his players to return to play if they aren’t ready to do due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Premier League is looking to restart its campaign from June. This would mean that players would come back to training from later this month.
However, this project of resuming the campaign has put a considerable amount of doubt over the safety of the footballers and the match officials alike. The 47-year-old spoke to Sky Sports when he said, “You wouldn't hold anything against them. You need to get to know everyone and if a player is mentally ready to play. I don't think we could force anyone.”
England is currently under a lockdown period implemented by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Accordingly, the Premier League has been suspended from March itself. Nine rounds of games are yet to be played for most of the clubs to complete the season. “They've not raised too many concerns and we trust the experts who know if and when it's safe to start again,” the Norwegian tactician said.
Manchester United is currently placed in the fifth spot in the standings. They are merely three points adrift the fourth-place, which is occupied by Chelsea right now. The likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford have been sidelined due to their respective injuries for a long span of time now and this ongoing period has enabled them to recover back to full fitness too.
On that, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer commented, “For those two it gives them a chance to start on a par or even ahead of the other players. They have been focused, so mentally it's maybe easier for them to train harder now because they can see light at the end of the tunnel.”
The Manchester United boss also expressed his excitement about the squad and also stated that Bruno Fernandes’ arrival and the subsequent impact that he created has been a boost for the club. “Getting Pogba and Marcus back would be fantastic,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer concluded.
