The attacking philosophy is in the walls of Man United- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

The former Red Devils striker has insisted on using the young contingent for more attacking drive.

Manchester United's Interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer kicked off his career with a bang. They defeated Cardiff City in Wales by scoring five goals for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson's farewell game. Looking to host Huddersfield town on the boxing day, the gaffer plans to use Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba with the best of their qualities.

He expressed that the attacking philosophy is in the walls of Manchester United and that he has every plan to extend the approach of the legacy on the field. 

Ever since Sir Alex's retirement, Old Trafford fans have time-to-time expressed their distress regarding the defensive mentality of the various gaffers in the dug-out. At times the Old Trafford crowd would event chant 'Attack, attack, attack'.

There is a ray of hope under Ole for the attacking oomph to returning and with the performance against Cardiff, the expectations are high.

"They've [players] not said anything to me about any handbrake (under Mourinho)," said Solskjaer. "But we spoke in the team meeting about how when we get one, we want to get two. When we get two, we want to get three."

He added: "It’s not always going to happen like it did [at Cardiff] but you have to try and create chances and grind it out, but it worked and with the blistering pace we have up front I don’t think any team would like to have Martial, Pogba, Lingard and Rashford running at them."

"So why should we stop them? The attacking philosophy is in the walls of Man United. That’s tradition, that’s history, that’s how we play and want to play," he said.

Talking on the youth promotion legacy of the club, Ole has supported the likes of Angel Gomes and James Garner as he took them along with the squad for their trip to Cardiff.

“Matt Busby said if you’re good enough, you’re old enough and I want to maintain that. I watched the Chelsea game and I was really impressed,” he said speaking to MUTV.

Manchester United trail at the sixth position by 19 points from league leaders Liverpool, eight points from UEFA Champions League qualification and the same eight points from fifth-placed Arsenal.
