Sir Alex Ferguson to return as consultant at Manchester United
The legendary Scottish manager is set to advise the interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The sacking of Jose Mourinho seemed inevitable, yet his dismissal from his duties as United manager took the footballing world by storm. Since then, the former Norwegian striker, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has been appointed as the caretaker manager of the Red Devils till the end of the season. It is widely believed around the club that Sir Alex played an active role in bringing back both Solskjaer and assistant coach Mike Phelan at the club.
In his first game in-charge, Solskjaer saw Manchester United rekindle their lost prowess when they obliterated Cardiff City, 1-5, taking away all three points on Saturday. Building upon that, reports suggest that Ed Woodward has brought back Sir Alex on board as a consultant/advisor to the new interim boss.
Infact, in his first interview as the boss, Solskjaer admitted that his personal managerial approach is highly influenced by Sir Alex's style.
Interestingly, the executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, has been a busy figure lately. In a short period of time, he has sacked Mourinho, hired Solskjaer, brought back Mike Phelan, brought back Sir Alex as a consultant and is also on the lookout for a Director of Football at the club.

Complying as a candidate for the Director of Football, Peter Schmeichel has told BBC: “I’m thinking about putting my name in there. Like every other footballer, I want to be involved again.
