The Spurs have bagged just 11 points off eight Premier League games this season.

Times are tough at the moment for Tottenham Hotspur after two heavy losses against Bayern Munich and Brighton and Hove Albion last week. It has been a very difficult start for Mauricio Pochettino and the team, who has managed to bag just 11 points in as many as eight games in the Premier League.

Naturally, manager Mauricio Pochettino must be feeling the heat at the club as reports suggest the Spurs are out in the market looking for a replacement for the Argentine. Amongst the reported suitors for the roles have emerged quite some surprising names including that of former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, as per Calciomercato.

The situation at Spurs comes rather as a surprise considering they had a commendable domestic season last time around. Excellent performance in Europe also saw them reach the finals of the UEFA Champions League, unfortunately, falling short at the last hurdle against Liverpool.

Moving on, the Spurs’ faithful had a lot of expectations right from the beginning of the season as the club brought in the likes of Giovanni Lo Celso (on loan), Tanguy Ndombele and Ryan Sessegnon as reinforcements.

However, things didn’t work out as smoothly as expected and the 7-2 loss at Bayern was the epitome of bad results.

Since then, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding Pochettino’s replacement. Meanwhile, Mourinho, who was sacked in December 2018, is currently without a club and although it seems unlikely to join the North Londoners, he stands as one of the options for the club.

Former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, also without a club at the moment, appears as a possible replacement for Pochettino. On the other hand, Eusebio Di Francesco, who is in a similar situation as Pochettino at Sampdoria, could also be in the shopping list of Daniel Levy.

With the international break approaching, the club now have time to decide upon the rest of the season and as things stand, a change in the managerial role cannot be simply ruled out.
