[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Steven Bergwijn played 149 matches for the Dutch club and won three Eredivisie titles before coming to England. He admitted that it was his childhood dream to play in the Premier League. “It’s an honour for me to be here, a dream to play in the Premier League and I will give whatever I have, whatever I can bring, I will give it all for the Club and for this team.”, said Steven Bergwijn to Spurs official website. “It’s an amazing move for me, an amazing club. Just look around the training ground, it’s amazing. It’s an honour to be here. I just spoke to the manager as well. When I was a young boy I looked up to a coach like Jose Mourinho, now I play for him.” During his youth days, Bergwijn played for Ajax and decided to go to PSV in 2011. He was overjoyed with Tottenham’s performance in the Uefa Champions League last season and is confident that the team would be able to win the coveted trophy very soon. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] He said, “First of all, I loved to see that Spurs beat Ajax in the Champions League semi-final. This a big club that plays good football and that’s what I like. I look from day to day and want to be a good player here. I want to score goals, give assists and want to win the Champions League.” “I watched last season, the team went so far, and I hope this season also. You have to believe in yourself. I know what I can bring to this club and to this team, that’s important. I will do what I can, and I know what I can do.” Despite coming this far in his career, Bergwijn hasn’t forgotten his Parents' struggle. They play a huge part in his life and he admitted that without them he wouldn’t have been in England. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News|ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] “Without them, I’m not here. I was 13 when I moved to PSV,” he recalled. “For four years, my father drove me to PSV. We woke up at six o’clock in the morning, drove one hour to Eindhoven, then back to school until three or four o’clock, every day.”, remarked Bergwijn. “When I was training, my father would sleep in the car, all that for three or four years. I know what my family have done for me and I’m happy that I can give this back.” Bergwijn scored 31 goals during his time at PSV and has also earned nine caps for the Dutch senior national team.Latest News
