I-League side Rajasthan United FC have bolstered their attacking ranks with the signing of Spanish forward Jordan Lamela until the end of the 2025-26 season. Rajasthan United FC continue to reshape their squad as they prepare for the I-League campaign to kick off soon.

Lamela arrives from SC Bengaluru and is known for his versatility across the frontline. Capable of operating in multiple attacking roles, the Spaniard brings flexibility, energy and tactical variety to Rajasthan United’s setup. His addition is expected to provide greater depth and attacking options as the club looks to maintain consistency and competitiveness in the I-League.

Lamela brings much needed Indian football experience

A familiar face in Indian football, Lamela arrives as a player who can plug multiple gaps and give the coaching staff plenty of tactical flexibility. The Spaniard has already built a strong CV in India, featuring in 47 matches so far with 30 appearances for Inter Kashi and 17 for SC Bengaluru.

What stands out most about Lamela is his adaptability. Over the years, he has been used all over the pitch, playing 10 games in central midfield, 8 on the right side of midfield and 7 as a centre-forward. He has also been deployed out wide, with spells as a left winger, left midfielder and right winger, and has even dropped deeper when needed, making appearances at left-back and once as a defensive midfielder.

Despite constantly shifting roles, Lamela has managed to make a consistent impact in the final third, scoring 9 I-League goals and providing 6 assists.
