Saviour Gama ends SCC Cavelossim winning streak

Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim U-20s unbeaten run come to an end at the hands of FC Bardez Goa U-20s as they lost 1-2 in the TACA U-20 League at Duler Stadium earlier today. The game was intense as both the teams played end to end football giving a hard time for the defenders. FC Bardez scored in the 10th minute of the game to stun the SCCC players. But they managed to pick themselves up in the 24th minute as they got an equalizer, but in the last dying seconds of the game conceded a goal to end their winning streak. SCC Cavelossim started the match well, but the first chance was created by FC Bardez in the first minute of the game as Manjunath Rathod got the ball on the left flank and shot it, the shot just went wide the post. But FC Bardez opened the scoring in the 10th minute as Sarineo intercepted the ball from Anil Shivolker on the left flank and covered some distance before scoring a low shot in the goal. The keeper couldn’t save it. In the19th minute Aaren got a cros tried to control it but couldn’t get enough power on it. SCC Cavelossim got their leveller in 24th minute as Lalbabu Mahid gave away a foul 25 yards out. Moises stepped up and hit a low hard shot which went straight into the goal past the diving keeper. On the half our mark FC Bardez got a free-kick and Sarineo Fernandes stepped up to take it but saw his shot just go wide of the post. Three minutes after the break Ronail got the ball from a cross controlled it, covered some distance but failed to finish it as he saw his shot go wide of the post. In the 57th minute SCC Cavelossim got a free-kick from 25 yards, the captain stepped to take it, he hit the ball but it just went over the bar. About 10 minutes down the line Manjunath crossed in a ball to Ronil, who controlled it but failed to hit the net. In the 81st minute Saviour Gama was introduced onto the field as Ashley Cardozo was taken off. Both the teams played end to end football as the game was intense, but at the dying embers of the game, FC Bardez made their move, as the substitute Saviour Gama sprung into action, as Manjunath Rathod passed the ball to him in box. Saviour somehow reached it, kept his cool and scored the goal to make it 1-2 to stop the winning streak of SCC Cavelossim.
