Sampdoria mock Juventus after capturing Ronaldo
The 20-year old is the fifth English player to play in Italy.
Sampdoria has snapped up England youth international, Ronaldo Vieira from Leeds United for a fee around £7.7m and made a hilarious announcement, mocking Juventus.
Juventus unfolded the transfer market this season with a bang, as the Old Lady did the unthinkable and captured 5-time Balon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid for a whopping £100m. The signing definitely grabbed a lot of media attention and social media went berserk as the Old Lady re-christened the day of the Portuguese superstar's acquisition as #RonaldoDay. Sampdoria who snapped up the talented Leeds midfielder, Ronaldo Viera, did not shy away from a dig at their Serie A rivals.
Cristiano is definitely a brand in his own right and his announcement was greeted with huge fanfare and booming social media responses. Juventus released photos videos and posters of the Portuguese talisman and it gained huge attention all over the social media. But, Sampdoria who snapped up the Portuguese man's namesake were very cheeky to mock the current Serie A winners, by using similar graphics to announce the arrival of their own Ronaldo, as they just added the club colours at the bottom.

The 20-year-old Ronaldo Vieira is an England Under-21 star and has made 63 appearances for Leeds in the Championship, scoring once. The youngster will face the big man when Juventus and Sampdoria go head-to-head. But, till then, its all in good humour from the Serie A sides.

The Guinea-Bissau born midfielder will be the fifth English player to play in Italy after David Platt, Lee Sharp, Des Walker and Trevor Francis. This deal matches the best interests of both the club and the player. The England youth international was a fan-favourite at Elland Road, but it was obvious that he was not in manager Marcelo Bielsa's plans for the upcoming campaign.

Instead, a move to Serie A has seen his salary doubled and now opportunities should be easier to come by at the Genoa-based club.
It will certainly be quite interesting to see how the young central midfielder fairs against the Portuguese talisman, when Sampdoria visit Turin on December 29.
