Zlatan Ibrahimovic: I want to play for as long as possible

The mercurial Swede is not looking to take any calls till the end of his contract with AC Milan.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in no rush to decide about his future and is currently looking to stay in the best of shape in case the season resumes in May or June as many reports suggest. The Swedish forward, who is in his second spell at AC Milan, is currently in Sweden during the lockdown period and is keeping himself busy and fit by training with Hammarby, where he owns 25% of the club.

Ibra recently participated in a friendly with the club which was televised on national television post which he answered questions surrounding his future. Over his two spells at Milan, the first of which was a loan-converted-to-permanent phase, he scored 42 goals in 61 games and now in his second spell, he has three goals from eight games.

Speaking to the reporters, Zlatan replied, "I have a contract and we'll see how the season ends, if it ends. I said that I want to play football for as long as possible, but you never know what's happening. I am someone who wants to play only if it gives a hand and not thanks to what I did in my career or for what I became."

"If you sign for a team, then you need to be in the right condition to play. We'll see what will happen," Zlatan added.

The 38-year old has been in the books of many illustrious clubs across Europe with clubs like Manchester United, Barcelona, either side of the Milan divide (AC and Inter), Ajax, LA Galaxy in the MLS and parent club Malmo in a 21-year career that has seen him represent nine clubs in Europe and North America. The journey hasn't been bereft of success with Ibra winning a cumulative 31 trophies but never winning a Champions League title.

The Swede is still going strong and representing one of Europe's premier clubs at the age of 38 which defines his dogged desire to stay on top of his game that matches his bravado and brash persona and claims.
