Milan Derby Comebacks: Over the course of history, the Derby della Madonnina has established itself as one of the world's most fiercely contested rivalries, often deciding title races. While the contest has seen a dip in recent years, the significance it holds for people of the city and of fans of the sport around the world remains strong.  Antonio Conte's Inter side has had a rejuvenation this campaign, with likes of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez leading the title charge from the front, giving rivals Juventus something to think about.  The 2020 edition of the derby saw the Nerazzurri join Juventus at the top of the Serie A table after a scintillating comeback at the San Siro.  We at Khel Now take a look at the top five comebacks in the famous Milan Derby over the course of it's long and rich history.  [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]

5. Milan 3-1 Inter (2011)

The Supercoppa Italia has only been contested between the two Milan sides once in all its history and it was a game to remember. Inter were fired into the lead by a Wesley Sneijder free kick in the first half before Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Pato and Kevin Prince Boateng struck in the second half to make sure that AC Milan lifted the title. Quite the first meeting.

4. Inter 4-2 Milan (2020)

Antonio Conte's new-look Inter Milan side are hot on the heels of Juventus in a bid to end the Old Lady's hegemony of the Serie A in recent years. The pursuit looked to be in danger when an AC Milan side that was rejuvenated by the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic took a 2-0 lead in the first half, with the Swede scoring the second goal. However, the Nerazzurri would not be beaten. A flurry of three goals in 20 minutes in the second half before Romelu Lukaku capped it off with a fourth in the dying minutes of the game, saw the victory go to Inter, who continue to push the title race to the final weeks of the campaign.  [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]

3. Milan 2 - 1 Inter (1984)

It had been a tough road for AC Milan in the 1980s, with the famous club being relegated twice. The period was a dark one in the history of the Rossoneri. Milan had not bested their stadium-sharing rivals in six years and it was beginning to look like they never would when the Nerazzurri took the lead through Alessandro Altobelli. However, Milan were not to be deterred. Agostino Di Bartolomei equalized for his side before Mark Hateley headed past Walter Zenga to score one of the most important AC Milan goals in recent history, giving the Rossoneri a famous win.

2. Milan 3-2 Inter (2004)

The AC Milan side of 2004, consisted of a number of players who are now considered as legends of the game. The team was graced with the likes of Clearance Seedorf, Kaka and Maldini to name a few. However, 45 minutes into the Milan Derby, the star-studded squad found themselves 2-0 down to their greatest rivals. Their shot at a first Scudetto since 1999 was slipping through their fingers.  The second half was one that still remains fresh in the minds of AC Milan fans, the world over. The comeback was started by Jon Dahl Tomasson who scored with a tap in, early in the first half. Kaka, then, in typical fashion carved open the Inter defence with a weaving run and a resounding finish. Seedorf completed the comeback from fully 35 yards out to see his side over the line and to the title.  [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Milan Derby Comebacks | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]
