The first encounter between Shillong Lajong and Mumbai FC in the I-League 2017 will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Shillong on Saturday.

The hosts are in 7th position with 3 points from 4 games, thanks to a much needed win in the last match against league newcomer Minerva Punjab FC.

On the other hand, Mumbai are in 5th position and come to Shillong at the back of 2 consecutive defeats.

Zodlingliana Ralte and Dan Ignat are injured for the home side. Every other player in the squad is fit and available for selection. 

Ahead of their second home match on Saturday, Shillong Lajong FC exuded confidence of earning consecutive points despite having lost all their three away matches early in the league. Lajong have conceded 8 goals so far in 4 matches and the only managed to score 3. Although its early to predict anything but the team which was at the 6th spot last season needs a gear shift from now on wards to stay in contention.

Allan Dias seems to be out of contention, having not played any part this season while Lalchawnkima is out with an injury. All other players are available for selection.

Opponent, Mumbai FC, 5th placed right now in the season, had lost their last two games in a row and need a win to get back their confidence.

Isaac Vanmalsawma-Shillong Lajong: The midfielder played a starring role in Lajong’s win last time out. Vanmalsawma has been one of the more impressive players in a young Lajong outfit. His incisive runs and accurate passing were key to the Reds’ creativity. He will once again be a key cqg in the wheel against Mumbai.

Steen Dias-Mumbai FC: The midfielder has ben one of the mainstays of what is a newlook Mumbai team that enjoyed a good start to the season but have stuffered defeats in their last two games. The former India international has been the main creative element and he will once again be key if the Mumbaikars are to return to winning ways.
