Sporting Clube de Goa continued their fine run in the GFA U-18 League beating Kevnem SC 2 - 0 on Monday evening in a match held at Don Bosco Ground, Panjim.
Sangram Thorawade (40') and Trijoy Dias (50') ensured Sporting the full 3 points.
The first half saw an evenly balanced possession by both teams with Sporting enjoying the technical superiority over their counterparts. With only some casual attempts at both ends, it looked like both team would head into halftime without making any difference to the scoreboard. But in the 39th minute, Trijoy made an incredible run on the left to cut through two Kevnem defenders before being brought down by third inside the box, the referee had no hesitations in pointing to the spot.
Sangram who was given the armband took up the responsibility and sending Kevnem keeper on the wrong side to put the Oranje side ahead.

Sportings Osbourne Fernandes made a good run on the right to send in an excellent cross finding Trijoy on the left, the latter struck a jaw-dropping left footed volley to almost seal the game in favour of young oranje.
Kevnem's best opportunity came late in the second half when Dwayne Britto & Yogesh Jhalmi combined well in the mid for the latter to place the ball past Sporting custodian Karol but defender Saliston D'Costa made a dazzling goal line clearance ensuring no change in the scoreboard. With this win, Sporting has collected 12 points from 5 matches played.
