The hosts now have four out of five games at home at the business end of the season...
The arrival of four Bengaluru FC players is a “blessing” for Mumbai City FC, admitted coach Alexandre Guimaraes ahead of the Maharashtra derby of the Hero Indian Super League against FC Pune City at Mumbai Football Arena, Mumbai, on Thursday. Both teams come into the game on the back of impressive wins in their previous games. The hosts have picked up seven points in their last three away games and sit comfortably at the top of the table. The Stallions on the other hand, have had a difficult campaign but beat Atletico de Kolkata 2-1 in their previous outing to grab a much-needed win. They will be looking for another triumph as they look to build momentum in the season run-in. Team News Apart from their longstanding absentees Mumbai have no fresh injuries and will be further bolstered by the return of as many as four Bengaluru FC players including the pair of Amrinder Singh and Sunil Chhetri. Pune too have a full squad going into this one and will also add Eugeneson Lyngdoh to their ranks. Head to Head Games between these two sides have been tight and both have two wins each with one match ending in a draw. When they met earlier in the season Mumbai ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a Matias Defederico strike. Man to Watch Sunil Chhetri-Mumbai City FC: The India skipper needs no introduction. He was at the heart of BFC’s remarkable run to the AFC Cup Final and now returns to bolster Mumbai’s already strong squad. After a disappointing campaign with the metropolis outfit last season, the talismanic forward will look forward to leading his team to ISL glory this time around. Eugeneson Lyngdoh-FC Pune City: One thing that Pune have missed most this season is the presence of a driving force in midfield and on the wings, someone who can be the creative influence in the middle of the park. The returning Blues star will bring exactly those qualities to the table. Probable Line-ups Mumbai City: Amrinder Singh, Aiborlang Khongjee, Gerson Vieira, Anwar Ali, Krisztián Vadócz, Léo Costa, Diego Forlán(C), Jackichand Singh, Sony Norde, Lucian Goian, Sunil Chhetri. FC Pune City: Apoula Edima Edel Bete,Rahul Shankar Bheke, Augustine Melwyn Fernandes, Dramane Traore, Eduardo Ferreira, Jonatan Lucca, Anibal Zurdo Rodriguez, Gouramangi Singh Moirangthem, Mohamed Sissoko, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, Narayan Das.
