Khel Now picks the five games that will stir your appetite through the international break…
Frustrated by the international break? Can’t go without your regular dose of football? Worry not. We at Khel Now understand you and that’s why we have picked five of the best international matches from around the world to watch this week. There’s plenty of quality action to keep you occupied. So, sit back, relax and enjoy.
India Vs Cambodia
India take on Cambodia in a friendly in Phnom Penh tomorrow. The game is vital preparation for the Blue Tigers ahead of their AFC Asian Cup Qualifying opener against Myanmar in a week’s time. The Indians are in superb form having scored 14 goals in their last four games and have enjoyed a rapid rise up the FIFA Rankings, currently standing 132nd. But they are notoriously bad travellers and would do well not to take the Cambodians lightly. The match is not on TV, but you can watch the live stream of the game on Khel Now.
KICKOFF: 5 PM IST (Wednesday)
The Indian National team will prepare for AFC Asian Cup qualifiers with a friendly against Cambodia
Iraq Vs Australia
This is a must-win World Cup Qualifier for both teams. The game takes place in Tehran for security reasons but both teams find themselves in a tight Group B. Four teams are separated by just two points and are competing for two automatic qualification spots. The Australians started well with wins over Iraq at home and away to the United Arab Emirates, but successive draws against Saudi Arabia, Japan and Thailand mean they are now outside the automatic spots and in need of a win on neutral territory.
KICKOFF: 5.30 PM IST (Thursday)
Germany Vs England
This showdown at Signal Iduna Park promises to be a mouth-watering one. Both these countries are all but certain to be in Russia next year and while they are breezing through a relatively easy qualification group, the Three Lions will use this as a barometer of the progress that has been made since the disastrous campaign at Euro 2016.

England boss Gareth Southgate has made some bold selections as part of his shake-up after dropping captain Wayne Rooney and Arsenal winger Theo Walcott amongst others. Aside from the recall of in-form Sunderland striker Jermaine Defoe, the squad has a clear emphasis on youth and the reigning world champions will present their sternest test yet.
KICKOFF: 1.15 AM IST (Thursday)
Uruguay Vs Brazil
The top two teams in south-American qualifying meet at the Estadio Centanario in Montevideo. Interestingly, both teams will be without their leading strikers. Gabriel Jesus is injured for Brazil, while Luis Suarez is suspended for the hosts. Both teams have the propensity to attack and the game should make for plenty of entertainment even at a slightly inconvenient kickoff time in the wee hours of Friday morning in India.
KICKOFF: 4.30 AM IST (Friday)
Argentina Vs Chile
These two teams have seen plenty of each other recently. They are separated by just a point in qualification and there’s a lot more to play for than just bragging rights. Their two most famous recent meetings, of course, have come in the last two editions of the Copa America with Chile running out winners on both occasions.
