The Norwegian striker has scored eights goals in the Champions League so far this season.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has reiterated that his team is prepared to face in-form Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland when the two teams face each other in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. It would be an interesting occasion for Dortmund as they would prepare to face a team marshalled by their former manager Thomas Tuchel. The first leg of this tie would be played on the upcoming Tuesday at the Signal Iduna Park, the home of Borussia Dortmund. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Haaland has been in a blistering form ever since joining the German club ahead of the January transfer window. The Norwegian forward has amassed nine goals and recorded an assist too in his short tenure with Dortmund so far. Statistically speaking, until now, he has bagged a goal every 38.8 minutes for the club. Thiago Silva, who is an experienced head and a leader at the back for PSG, appears to be well aware of the sort of threat that the 19-year-old could present in front of his team. The Brazilian centre-back said, “He scores a lot of goals. Nine goals in six games, it's incredible, it's huge. I hope that we will be able to be cautious and that he will not score against us, but rather after in the league. But for us it’s wonderful to play against a player like that, especially since he’s just started his career. He is very motivated, but so are PSG.” [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] Haaland’s move to Dortmund came at the back of a comprehensively driven campaign of rumors suggesting that he would move to Manchester United to reunite with his former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, after choosing to switch to Germany, the striker didn’t waste much time before stamping his mark upon the league. In his very first match for Lucien Favre’s team, Haaland scored a hat-trick within 20 minutes against Bundesliga opponent, Augsburg. Silva acknowledges that his side would not be afraid of facing Haaland. He told to RMC, “Are we afraid? We have no fear, but we have a lot of respect. I saw the match [against Eintracht], they have a lot of quality in front, they scored four goals, with incredible technique, movements that are difficult to fight. But if we are together, we can make a good match there. With great respect for these players, who are phenomenal.”Latest News
