We have to prepare for a hard game against Minerva - Trevor Morgan
The Red and Gold are looking to make it four wins in a row...
The Kolkata giants are on nothing short of an impressive streak of form this season in terms of away games. However, East Bengal Head Coach Trevor Morgan made it clear that neither he or his players are expecting a cakewalk over I-League newcomers Minerva Punjab. .
“We have to prepare for a hard game against Minerva Punjab FC,” said the visitors’ Head Coach today in the pre-match conference in Ludhiana. Morgan also revealed that he does not want to be on the wrong side of the scoresheet tomorrow when he said, “We don’t want to be at end of an upset here in Punjab.”
The Kolkata-based club are in fine form considering they are looking forward to their fifth league fixture this season against Minerva Punjab FC following a win over reigning champions Bengaluru FC in the previous game. When asked about it Morgan answered, “We had a good win against a good side.” Robin Singh, Morgan’s most recent acquisition had scored the winner in their last match, against his former club Bengaluru FC.
Following his coach’s remarks over the Punjab-based side, Robin Singh was cautious about choosing compatible words for their opponents tomorrow when he said, “It is not an easy game tomorrow.” However, Singh concluded his sentence with optimism as he added, “We will play to win it.”
Questions were raised over the condition of the pitch at Guru Nanak Stadium, where the match between Minerva Punjab and East Bengal is scheduled to take place. When asked about his remarks, Robin Singh replied that he himself did not have any complaint about the pitch but feels the ground could be better maintained.
