With a newly assembled squad, Chennai City FC will want to climb up the table as the team continues to gel.
A man of few words, Robin Charles Raja, spoke to the press before his side's game away to DSK Shivajians. The club from the south have had less than a month to get their squad ready and prepared for the new season but the coach is happy with his side's progress.
"Everything has been quick and fast, we haven't had long (together). Since we have been pushed into the water, we have to swim. We will look to do well."
"In the future, even the president, wanted the local players to get a chance in the national scene. We want the local Tamil Nadu players to be in the national football arena. We have got some really good players, local and foreigners."
The 50-year old continued, "We are still like a baby, but we want to play good football. We played defensively in the last game but we want to play good possession football."
Raja, who was the coach of Tamil Nadu's Santosh Trophy team last year said, "Chennai City have a number of players hailing from the state itself. We want to have around 4-5 youngsters in the team for a start. Down the years, (we'll get) maybe more."

"We are totally different (from Chennaiyin FC). We have a young, passionate president, he has been running the club for over three years and working with local youngsters. There are very few Chennai players in there, but here we want to promote (such) players."
