The Red Devils want to add a new right-back this summer.

According to reports, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has turned down a move to West Ham United and is inclined towards joining Inter Milan. Manchester United have opened the door to selling the right-back this summer in order to stay within the Premier League profit and sustainability rule.

Erik ten Hag is open to reuniting with Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui at Old Trafford whom he had coached during his stint with AFC Ajax. Bayern Munich are said to be open to selling the full-back. But the Red Devils could be hit by a major blow as the Moroccan is reportedly closing in on a move to join West Ham.

This means United will have to move quickly in order to complete the signing of Mazraoui. But they need to first sell Wan-Bissaka to stay within PSR, which could slow down United’s efforts to sign the former Ajax player.

Wan-Bissaka has enhanced his performance under Ten Hag and has become a frequent starter. However, he has been linked with a move away from the English side. It remains to be seen how much Inter are willing to offer to sign the 26-year-old from Manchester United.

The Italian giants, however, want to try and sign the right-back for free after the end of the season (2024-25). But reports state that intermediary talks have occurred between United and Inter over a possible Wan-Bissaka and Denzel Dumfries swap deal.

Nevertheless, the talks are yet to advance. But given United wants to sign a right-back, they could push for the swap deal, which will keep both parties content.

Manchester United originally had signed Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace for £50 million but are now open to selling him for just £10 million ($12 million), which will be a huge loss for United.

The right-back’s contract will expire after the end of the upcoming season. United would rather sell him this summer than lose him for free at a later point. They are now left with two options – either sell him to his preferred club or extend his contract. If he ends up staying, the former Eagles player could be an ideal backup who can also operate from left-back given the recurring injuries to Luke Shaw.
