The Brazilian pocketed a massive sum during his time with the French club.

Only weeks before Premier League clubs might have considered acquiring Neymar, it was discovered that a startling €200k provision was purportedly added to his contract while he was still a Paris Saint-Germain player.

The legendary Brazilian Neymar left PSG, where he reportedly made £250 million in two years, for Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023 and joined Al-Hilal.

For a forward who only appeared in five professional football games in his first season due to an ACL injury, it is not bad going. Since then, he has recovered from that problem, but he only participated in two games before sustaining another hamstring strain.

Lewis Bryon, the junior coach at Crystal Palace, has disclosed one “crazy” bonus that Neymar received as part of his PSG contract.

Although Neymar is currently playing for Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, Bryon remembers being made aware of a condition in the Brazilian’s financially ruinous PSG contract.

“Crystal Palace academy coach Lewis Bryon: ‘The maddest clause I’ve heard is Neymar at PSG!'” was tweeted by the X account, Football Tweet.

“‘On a coaching course, I was with a member of PSG’s staff.

“‘He said Neymar had a clause in his contract that every time he went over and claps the fans after a match, he gets a €200,000…'”

Foreign clubs will be permitted to speak with Neymar’s representatives for his next transfer in January since his contract in the Gulf state is set to expire at the end of the 2024–2025 season. Al-Hilal would have to make a tough choice about their star player from whom they have received very little return.

The 32-year-old has previously declared that Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool are the four Premier League teams he would like to play for.

For title contenders Arsenal and high-spending Chelsea, this has generated intriguing discussion. They were just warned about the absurd terms Neymar played under at PSG, though, if they were actually considering signing him.
