Rafa Leao will not leave AC Milan this summer: AC Milan CEO on Rafael Leao's Barcelona links

The Blaugrana are in the market to sign a left-winger.
Giorgio Furlani, the CEO of AC Milan, has put a firm stop to any rumours about Rafael Leao joining Barcelona.
Over the past several days, there has been conjecture that Blaugrana would make a spectacular move for the Portugal international. Leao’s contract includes an exit clause. It’s estimated to be worth €175 million.
When El Chiringuito TV asked Furlani if Leao might play for Barcelona this season at the Milanello training camp, the Milan CEO gave a very definitive response.
AC Milan CEO Furlani: “Rafa Leão will NOT leave AC Milan this summer”. “Barcelona move? No chance. No way. He’s not leaving the club. 100%”. “If Rafa asks to leave? He’s not gonna ask to leave the club. I think my message is quite clear, no?”, told El Chiringuito TV.
Barcelona have been looking to reinforce their left-wing position after their pursuit of Nico Williams hit a roadblock. It was all because the player did not make any decision on joining the club although the Spanish giants were ready to meet his release clause.
Since then the club have been in the market for a quality winger who can bolster their left flank. Following Williams’ failed signing the club were linked with AC Milan star Leao. But his massive release clause has been a big problem. Knowing that they are facing problems registering Dani Olmo, Leao’s signing further would have been a challenge for the club.
Barcelona have only a week left now before the transfer window shuts down. Fresh speculations are now linking them with Federico Chiesa, who Juventus are open to selling this summer. Another player they are linked with is Luis Diaz. But Liverpool’s big price tag for him once again will be difficult for the Spanish club.
Currently, the club have only signed Olmo. It remains to be seen who will be the next incoming player in the summer otherwise they might end up using the former RB Leipzig player on the left-flank. Olmo is versatile and can operate from midfield and on the wings.
