AC Milan's Ismaël Bennacer set to miss rest of season with torn right-calf

Bennacer picked up a serious calf injury during training with the national team.
Ismaël Bennacer is set to be out for the rest of the season after tearing his right calf. The AC Milan player tore his stronger foot’s calf during a training camp with his national team. He had to return to Italy due to a severe muscular ailment.
The player will now likely be out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season due to what appears to be a serious calf injury.
The Algerian international was knocked down during national team Algeria’s team training earlier this week. Milan have announced that he has sustained “serious” damage to his calf.
The 26-year-old sustained an injury while practising with Algeria on an artificial pitch. After the injury, he made an early return to Milan. Bennacer will miss a crucial stretch of Milan’s games now, starting with Venezia in Serie A. He surely will be gutted to miss the following clash against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.
The 26-year-old has missed more than 400 days due to injuries since December 2020. Nevertheless, a significant portion of those absences indeed stem from the devastating knee injury he sustained against Inter Milan in the Champions League. It kept him out of action for over a year.
It’s devastating news for the Algerian midfielder. AC Milan have lost a key player for the rest of this term. Now that the transfer window is also closed they won’t be able to find his replacement.
The midfielder made only one appearance this season. The previous term he appeared in 25 games across all competitions, scoring and assisting twice.
His absence will certainly be felt. He has suffered significant injury and it is a big blow for Milan. The club are set to enter the crucial stage of the season with many big games coming up.
During this September International break, we have witnessed many players suffer injuries who play for some of the big sides across European leagues. Now Bennacer is another victim of a serious injury. It’s a pity that his season has abruptly come to an end this soon.
