Premier League side Chelsea are also interested in signing the Nigerian striker.

Victor Osimhen’s future continued to be discussed during the transfer window. While Napoli look to move the striker, Osimhen’s high wages have proven to be a huge issue for European clubs like Chelsea.

Paris Saint-Germain have also expressed interest but there has been no approach from the French club and it looks like the forward will have to look for other options.

Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli also showed their interest and it now seems like the club could sign the striker. It also confirmed that they have agreed to insert €50M release clause in Victor Osimhen’s contract, which will be available for two seasons.

With many European clubs interested it looks like the Saudi team will be able to tempt him away from Italy and has offered a salary of £25 million per season, which equates to around £485,000 a week.

If Chelsea try to match that offer it will see them rip up their current wage structure which is unlikely. Their two highest earners are Romelu Lukaku and Raheem Sterling. The Belgian has joined Napoli while the England international has been told to look for clubs before the end of the summer window.

It is also confirmed that Al Ahli representatives flew to Italy to hold talks with Osimhen over the potential move but the former Lille striker is yet to agree to a deal which keeps Chelsea in the race.

Another big issue for the Blues have been Osimhen’s £113million release clause and the west Londoners have no intention of triggering his clause to sign him.

Meanwhile, Napoli have made their decision to sell the forward under new manager Antonio Conte after Osimhen has not been involved in any of Napoli’s three competitive games so far this season.

With a few days to go, it will be interesting to see what transpires with the Nigerian striker’s future with Chelsea and Saudi clubs looking for a chance to sign him.
