Al-Ittihad cool their interest in Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne

The Belgian midfielder has only one year left on his City deal.
Despite reaching an agreement on personal terms, Al-Ittihad have apparently given up on trying to sign Manchester City player Kevin De Bruyne.
The 33-year-old playmaker has 12 months remaining in his Man City deal. There have been no talks of extending the contract so far. Teams from the high-spending Saudi Pro League have expressed interest in signing the Belgium international, but still no extension has been agreed upon as of yet.
Al-Ittihad, who already have Fabinho, N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema, were eager to sign the modern legend De Bruyne. The six-time Premier League champion considered a big offer they had on the table acceptable.
However, transfer expert Rudy Galetti is saying that Al-Ittihad are leaving because they are not willing to pay the amount Manchester City are demanding. An offer of £25 million ($32 million) is rumoured to have been rejected. Prior reports indicate that the Sky Blues are reportedly holding out for closer to £50 million ($64 million).
Al-Ittihad think they have enough talented midfield alternatives to get by for the time being. For a fact, former AS Roma midfielder Houssem Aouar has already been signed. If Kevin De Bruyne doesn’t renew his deal then the Saudi club could move for him next summer.
The 33-year-old should remain in a top European league for the foreseeable future because he is still skilled enough to play at the greatest level. In the near future, however, he will have many options to relocate to Saudi Arabia and the Major League Soccer.
Kevin De Bruyne had a crucial role in the second half of Manchester City’s last season, which culminated in the team winning the Premier League title.
After overcoming his injury problems, the footballer plans to make more of an impact this upcoming season. Whether he can assist the reigning champions in achieving yet another league title win in the next campaign is yet to be determined.
