Al-Nassr targeting move for Manchester United star Antony: Report

The Saudi side shift focus from Raphinha to former Ajax star.
After the Raphinha transfer from Barcelona fell through, Al-Nassr are focused on signing Antony from Manchester United.
After moving from Ajax to United in 2022, the 24-year-old has not been able to live up to his £82 million transfer cost. In 29 Premier League games last season, he scored only once.
Al-Nassr see a chance to strengthen their team ahead of the upcoming season since United are prepared to let go of Antony. But it remains to be seen how much the Saudi side will pay for sign him. Antony is a desirable target for the Saudi club because of his quickness and talent on the wing.
A transfer could see the Brazilian follow in the path of Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo had made a similar transfer from United to Al-Nassr.
However, Antony has already stated that he wants to stay and have an influence at Old Trafford. Moving to the Saudi Arabian team seems quite improbable.
Nevertheless, the Old Trafford hosts can still benefit from the Saudi wealth since Antony, a player targeted by Al-Nassr, has never adjusted to the demands of English football after leaving Ajax. But settling in the Middle East will be easier as the league is less intense compared to the English top-flight league.
Antony’s performance has been subpar. It’s unlikely that any European club will be willing to sign him. United have been open to selling the player. But his exploits have raised doubts about whether he will be an ideal signing.
Nevertheless, the Brazilian is still a prominent figure in football. But not always for his performance. He has won two domestic cups in two years at Old Trafford and has made several appearances for his nation.
In the upcoming season, the Brazilian forward would want to prove himself and his worth, given United shelled out a lot to bring him to Old Trafford. If he doesn’t perform in the upcoming campaign, he could fall down in the pecking order. Amad Diallo could be the preferred option for Erik ten Hag from there onwards.
