The centre-forward has scored 21 goals this season.
Aleksandar Mitrovic, Al-Hilal star, was admitted to hospital on Sunday morning due to a ārapid heartbeat, reports suggest. The striker, who recently returned from a hamstring injury, had to be hospitalised due to health complications, and his return timeline will be determined.
The forward has been the Saudi sideās top scorer, and his absence for their next game will be a big blow for the club, given Al-Hilal have dropped points and are second in the table, four points behind first-place Al-Ittihad. However, they play in the AFC Champions League Elite next.
The Serbian striker was reportedly transported to Al-Habib Hospital, Al-Suwaidi, in Riyadh this morning, owing to a ārapid heartbeat due to physical stress,ā according to Saudi Arabian sources. According to the article, Mitrovic has been advised to pursue ācomplete restā by an attending physician.
This is an unexpected and concerning news update because Mitrovic, who just recently made his comeback from a hamstring injury, scored in Al-Hilalās 2-0 Saudi Pro League victory at Al-Feiha on Friday. He has been the main goalscorer this season and kept their title hopes alive.
Al-Hilal will next face Pakhtakor in the AFC Champions League round of 16 in the second leg, and itās likely that the striker will miss the game unless doctors provide the green light for his return.
Mitrovic has continued to be impressive for the Saudi club and has scored 21 goals and provided three assists for Al-Hilal this season, despite missing over two months due to a hamstring injury. He is currently the seventh top scorer in the league.
However, the main concern will be for the club that their striker return in full health, given the abrupt hospitalisation of the striker in the morning.
After this concerning incident, it is unclear how long the 30-year-old will be sidelined for Al-Hilal. Al-Hilal are probably going to provide an update soon.
