Six Premier League clubs will feature in UCL next season
The 2024-25 Champions League final season is coming to an end with Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain set to face each other on 31st May in Munich. However, the clubs are already looking forward to securing their place in the Champions League 2025-26 spot.
Teams from all across Europe are fighting for a berth in what is considered the most prestigious club competition in the world, particularly in the lucrative league phase.
The expanded competition will enter its second season; the first iteration of the new format received great acclaim for its drama and theatrics as it added more games and entertainment during the matches.
As the current season draws to a close, we give you an updated look at who has qualified for the UEFA Champions League’s next edition.
The 2025–2026 UEFA Champions League phase will feature 36 clubs, just like the first iteration did.
Due to their domestic league standing in the 2024–2025 season, 25 clubs automatically qualify for the competition. Additionally, the tournament winners and the 2024–2025 UEFA Europa League champions automatically qualify for the competition.
The final two spots are given to the leagues with the highest coefficient rankings, while seven additional teams will secure a spot in the qualifying rounds. Currently, one more English and Spanish team will be granted a spot in the league phase.
Next season, for the first time, we can expect six English clubs playing in the competition, given Premier League clubs have been handed another spot and the winner between Manchester United and Tottenham will receive a place in the tournament next season.
