Mikel Arteta issues Arsenal injury update ahead of Sunderland clash

The Gunners have been in terrific form this season.
Some of Mikel Arteta’s five injured Arsenal attackers may make an unexpected comeback on Saturday against Sunderland, the coach cryptically intimated.
Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres, Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Jesus are just a few of the Gunners’ numerous injured attackers.
Mikel Arteta reveals some attacking players could return from injury against Sunderland
Jesus is not in contention and has only just resumed first-team training this week after missing ten months due to a knee injury.
Mikel Arteta responded, “I cannot confirm all of that, but you are not far (off),” when questioned if the other five players will not be available on Saturday.
On whether they will all be back after the international break, he added: “Some of them, all of them I don’t know. There are a lot of things that have to happen in the next two weeks, and everything has to be perfect, but I think we’ll be very close with most of them to be in a really strong position.”
Additionally, Mikel Arteta speculated that Myles Lewis-Skelly’s exclusion from the England squad would really be advantageous.
On Friday, the 19-year-old was left out of Thomas Tuchel’s England 25-man roster for the country’s final World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania in November.
Since receiving his initial call-up in March, Lewis-Skelly has been included in four consecutive senior England squads and has already earned five caps, culminating in their October 5-0 victory against Latvia.
“In the case of Myles when you look at his age, what he’s already done, he’s just remarkable. So don’t look at the one moment what is happening for you because maybe it happens for the right reason and today you cannot see it.”
