Arsenal vs Tottenham set to take place outside UK for the first time in history

Arsenal and Tottenham will face each other in Hong Kong.
When Arsenal and Tottenham meet in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong this summer, it will be the inaugural North London derby played outside of the United Kingdom.
As part of their preparations for the 2025–2026 season, the London rivals are scheduled to clash on July 31 at the recently completed Kai Tak Stadium.
Premier League rivals Liverpool and AC Milan will play each other on July 26 as part of the Hong Kong Football Festival. Spurs travelled to South Korea and Japan in 2024, while Arsenal’s most recent trip to Hong Kong was in 2012.
As part of their off-season preparations, several Premier League clubs are scheduled to tour the United States, including Manchester United, who will play two post-season friendlies in Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Due to their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, which starts on June 15, Chelsea and Manchester City have not yet decided on their preseason schedules.
Speaking about the tour, Arsenal’s Managing Director Richard Garlick said: “It’s great to be back with our men’s first team squad after 13 years, and gives us the opportunity to meet so many of our fantastic supporters in the region again.
“Playing against Tottenham Hotspur in the magnificent new Kai Tak Stadium will be a great experience for both teams and supporters and will be a very important part of our pre-season preparations ahead of the new season.”
Tottenham’s chief revenue officer Ryan Norys said: “There are few bigger occasions in English football than a north London derby and to play this fixture in Hong Kong will be a huge occasion for our passionate fanbase across Asia, as well as providing ideal preparation for the team ahead of the new season.
This season, Arsenal have beaten their closest rivals, defeating Spurs in the league. Now, they shift their attention to their upcoming Premier League matchup against Fulham on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tottenham will get ready for a matchup with Chelsea on Thursday.
