Rapper A$AP Rocky looking to buy League Two club Tranmere Rovers: Reports

The Rovers could become another English football league club like Wrexham with famous celebrity owners.
Famous artist A$AP Rocky is looking to buy 80% of EFL League Two club Tranmere Rovers. He could become another famous star owner in the English football league after Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who bought Wrexham in 2021.
It seems like League Two club Tranmere Rovers are set for a high-profile takeover from a famous rapper A$AP Rocky. It is understood that an investment group led by celebrity lawyer Joe Tacopina is fronting the takeover.
The group are set to buy 80 per cent of the club which is currently owned by former FA chief Mark Palios, for around £15 million.
It is also believed that they plan to include a ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ style documentary that will help the club get worldwide views and raise the club’s profile around the globe, which could see famous singer Rihanna attending the match at Prenton Park.
A report from The Sun shares an interesting column: “Rocky is tight with Joe and has committed to the Tranmere bid. Joe has been to Tranmere matches and Rocky has plans to go over too after the deal is completed. We may even see Rihanna watching League Two football.”
They added: “Joe thinks Tranmere – a famous club, near to Liverpool – is undervalued and that by clever marketing and celebrity endorsement he can transform it. With the likes of Rocky on board, maybe so.”
This all comes down to saving Rocky’s image who was involved in the shooting of childhood pal and fellow rapper A$AP Relli.
A trial is expected to take place this month in Los Angeles. Rocky has two sons Rza and Riot with RiRi, who have pleaded not guilty to two charges of assault with a semi-automatic firearm.
After seeing Wrexham’s transformation from a non-league team to the top of EFL League One ever since the takeover of A-listers Ryan and Rob. Tacopina is hoping to use his celeb pals to enhance the interest in the US, which will increase the club’s value should he decide to sell them later.
