USA fans will be eager to learn the winner of the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
The best male and female players of the 2023–24 season will be determined at the Ballon d’Or gala, which will take place at the Théâtre de Châtelet in Paris on Monday, October 28.
The newspaper ‘L’Equipe’, in collaboration with UEFA and France Football, will present the highest individual prize in soccer for the first time this year in its 68th edition.
The list of 30 applicants for the honour, from which last year’s winner Leo Messi’s replacement will be selected, was released on August 4. Likewise, following Aitana Bonmatí’s victory last year, the list of 30 contenders for the female award was unveiled.
The players Vinicius Jr of Real Madrid and Rodri, a midfielder for Manchester City, have the highest chances of taking home the coveted title. The Brazilian was the MVP of the European top tournament and the winner of the most last season’s LaLiga and Champions League with Los Blancos.
Another player who also boasts a big chance of claiming the prize is Jude Bellingham, who enjoyed a brilliant debut season with Real Madrid last term and also led England to the final of Euro 2024.
On the other hand, Rodri won the European Championship in Germany with the Spanish national team and the Premier League with the Manchester club.
Barcelona players Caroline Graham Hansen, Salma Paralluelo, Patri Guijarro, and, once again, Aitana Bonmatí are among the most well-known names in the women’s nominees.
