Barcelona directors to use €7m bank guarantee for Marcus Rashford LaLiga registration: Report

The club’s financial woes have seen them struggle to even register players.
ESPN claims that to make room in their salary ceiling for Marcus Rashford’s registration, Barcelona’s board of directors are willing to provide a €7 million ($8.1 million) bank guarantee against future revenues.
As the wait to register new players Joan García and Marcus Rashford continues ahead of their Saturday’s LaLiga season opener against Mallorca, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has expressed his displeasure.
Since the German international will be absent for more than four months after back surgery, the league allowed Barcelona to spend 80% of injured goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen’s salary on a substitute; therefore, García should be registered.
However, both signings’ registrations are still unresolved before the day the champions begin their title defence.
Flick is unhappy with the club’s failure to register players

“You can imagine that I’m not happy about that, but I know the situation and I believe in the club,” Flick said in a news conference.
“We have to wait till tomorrow [Saturday]. I think it was the same situation last season also. We just focus on what we can change, what we have in our hands and as for the other things, I believe in the club.”
With striker Robert Lewandowski very doubtful for the match against Mallorca, Rashford’s availability becomes even more crucial.
The England forward is one of two candidates to take Lewandowski’s place. He arrived on a season-long loan from Manchester United. Ferran Torres is the other.
Flick also revealed that García, who cost €25 million ($29 million) to join from local rivals Espanyol, will start at number one, ahead of Ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczesny.
Flick’s second season as Barça’s manager presents a drastically different set of challenges than his first.
Last year’s aspirations were minimal, but now that they’ve won two trophies and advanced to the Champions League semifinal, there’s pressure to at least repeat or even perform better than those achievements.
