Barcelona announce squad numbers for 2024-25 season

Many new faces have been handed first-team jersey numbers.
FC Barcelona have started the 2024–25 season with four victories from four in LaLiga, which is the finest start possible. Thirteen members of the Barça Atlètic squad are included in this campaign now that the transfer window has closed.
New signings’, Dani Olmo & Pau Víctor, shirt numbers have been announced. The former will wear number 20, which was left vacant by Sergi Roberto’s departure. The latter will wear number 18, which was previously held by Oriol Romeu.
Three players who have joined the first squad formally have new numbers as well. Marc Casadó, who wore number 17, replaced Marco Alonso. Lamine Yamal set to wear number 19 after Vitor Roque was loaned to Betis. Pau Cubarsí took João Cancelo’s number 2 shirt at Barcelona.
Shirt numbers are also handed to three players who have come back from loan. Eric Garcia preserves the 24 jersey he wore prior to this season with Girona. Ansu Fati retains his number 10 shirt he sported prior to a loan spell at Brighton. João Félix’s exit has seen Pablo Torre take the No. 14.
The days of football teams lining up from No. 1 to 11 are long gone. Today’s pros have a wide range of possibilities. But regulations in LaLiga are a little more stringent than they are elsewhere.
Players from the reserve team will be given numbers between 26 and 50 should they make it into the first team during the season. Each club’s 25-man “A squad” is required to wear shirts with numbers one through 25. Goalkeepers on the first team must wear numbers 1, 13 or 25.
After the summer transfer market closes, the final squad list is confirmed. LaLiga players are not allowed to switch their numbers. They can, however, switch numbers with colleagues or go to an available number before that.
