The forward has been experiencing continued groin discomfort this season.

In order to prepare Lamine Yamal for the forthcoming UEFA Champions League match against Chelsea, Barcelona are working quickly to develop a comprehensive recovery plan.

Due to an excruciating pubalgia problem, the 18-year-old was unable to play in the November international break for Spain and also has limited training. Although Barca maintain that they won’t hurry him, his measured return to group training this week has raised hopes.

Barcelona have set a clear goal for Yamal to fully heal from pubalgia and return in time for the crucial Champions League matchup with Chelsea, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The club characterises the 18-year-old winger’s severe groin pain as “annoying instead of serious,” but it necessitated a total halt to his activities.

Due to his condition, he had to miss Spain’s World Cup qualifying matches against Georgia and Turkey. The medical staff at Barcelona was concerned that if the injury wasn’t handled strongly, it would get worse.

On November 10, Lamine Yamal received intrusive radiofrequency therapy as part of the club’s two-phase treatment plan. Before beginning a rigorous recovery regimen with two of Barcelona’s physiotherapists, he was told to take a 48 to 72-hour break.

Yamal returned to limited group training on Wednesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, a significant step after days of solitary work, demonstrating the program’s already apparent improvement.

The top goal for Barcelona is to get Lamine Yamal ready for the match against Chelsea, which might determine the club’s Champions League fate. Meanwhile, even the league meeting with Athletic Club on Saturday has not been ruled out.

Although the club think seven to ten days is reasonable if he continues to recuperate without any setbacks, his comeback schedule is still tight.

Lamine Yamal has been informed by Barcelona’s medical staff that this ailment is fragile and that improper treatment could result in months on the sidelines. His recent performance came against Celta Vigo, where he netted and assisted, but ended the game with a familiar discomfort.

Will Lamine Yamal play against Athletic Bilbao?

His participation remains uncertain.

Why didn’t he play for Spain in November?

He underwent radiofrequency therapy and needed a 48 to 72-hour break.

Does he have a serious groin injury?

No, he has a discomfort that keeps coming back.
