The striker escaped a car accident without much trouble after the Bayer Leverkusen game.

Victor Boniface, a striker for Bayer Leverkusen and Nigeria, posted pictures and video of his wrecked car following an accident today.

The forward is seen staring into the camera before revealing what he looks like with blood flowing down his arm. According to a source close to Boniface, the German tabloid Bild said today that the striker is doing well given the situation and is only mildly hurt.

Today, Boniface posted on social media. My time hasn’t come, according to the striker. Leverkusen, the forward’s team, have not yet made a public statement regarding the matter.

With the front bonnet totally smashed, the same footage demonstrated the extent of the damage to his vehicle.

Victor Boniface was part of Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt under Xabi Alonso hours before the incident.

In the 71st minute, the striker even scored the game-winning goal. Only a few days had passed since Boniface and the Nigerian national team were left stranded in an abandoned airport for eighteen hours prior to his accident.

At the deserted airport with its gates barred, Nigerian players and personnel were left sans food, water, or cellphone connections.

The good thing is that the forward didn’t suffer any serious injury. This accident could have had a massive impact on his life. Hopefully, he will recover soon and will be in action for the German club.

The 23-year-old striker made his debut for Nigeria last season after joining Leverkusen. He was instrumental in the team’s historic league and cup double. Boniface was instrumental in helping Leverkusen secure their first-ever Bundesliga title.

He has scored seven goals in ten games in all competitions this season. He headed in the game-winning goal in yesterday’s 2-1 home triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt despite missing a penalty. On Wednesday, Leverkusen will travel to Brest, a French team, for their Champions League match.
