Best draft picks for UEFA Euro 2024 fantasy game
The continental showpiece also introduces a fantasy league of its own, attracting users from across the globe.
The world of football is gearing up for eventful weeks, as Germany are hosting the 2024 UEFA European Championship, hailed as one of the toughest international tournaments. The stakes are incredibly high and the competitive nature of the tournament has the fans on the edge of their seats. While the passionate fans will be cheering for their respective national teams, they can also get involved in the tournament festivities through the Euro 2024 Fantasy Football.
The 2024 UEFA Euro kicks off on 14 June and will also mean the beginning of the fantasy league tournament, where managers can pick their favourite players under the budget of €100m (rising to €105m from the Round of 16). The squad will comprise 15 players which includes two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three forwards, quite similar to the popular Fantasy Premier League.
The users can already sign up on the UEFA website and get started with forming their teams. Strategizing ahead of the tournament requires a lot of research and observation which can be a difficult task for any football fan. However, to make things slightly easier for fantasy league managers, here is the best draft to start with for the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 Fantasy Football:
GK – Andriy Lunin (€4.5m)
Andriy Lunin is entering the 2024 UEFA Euros on the back of a stellar Champions League campaign with Real Madrid. The custodian is set to feature for Ukraine at the tournament and can notch up crucial points.
GK – Angus Gunn (€4.5m)
Angus Gunn is the first-choice goalkeeper for Scotland. The Tartan Army find themselves in a tricky Group A with Germany, Switzerland and Hungary. It is expected that the Scotland national team might see a lot of shots come their way and that is where Gunn can rack up points.
DF – Federico Dimarco (€5m)
Federico Dimarco is a popular choice and has been selected by 23% of all fantasy managers in their respective squads. The Italian full-back loves to get involved in the attacking third and can collect points with goal contributions, plus defensive work like clean-sheets and ball-recoveries.
DF – Diogo Dalot (€5m)
Diogo Dalot is one of the in-form players in Portugal’s squad heading into the tournament. At €5m, he is a lucrative choice for any fantasy manager who is looking for an attack-minded defender who is part of a relatively easier group, as the winners of the 2016 Euros play Georgia, Czechia and Turkey in Group F.
DF – Trent Alexander-Arnold (€5.5m)
Trent Alexander-Arnold is an assist machine who can also score from free-kick situations and deliver tasty crosses for the attackers in the box. He is on the costlier side for a defender at €5.5m, but could be worth it considering England’s opponents such as Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia in Group C, where they are favourites to qualify for the knockouts.

DF – Maximillian Mittelstadt (€4m)
Germany can field Maximillian Mittelstadt (€4m) in the defence. The centre-back is cheap and allows fantasy managers to allocate their funds to positions elsewhere.
DF – Marc Cucurella (€4.5m)
Marc Cucurella is one of the defensive options who can return attacking contributions. The Spaniard is affordable at €4.5m and is likely to start in the first XI for La Roja. He has not been included by a lot of managers in their fantasy squads which makes him a brilliant differential choice.
MF – Florian Wirtz (€7.5m)
All eyes will be on Florian Wirtz and how he gets on for Germany at Euros 2024. The midfielder dominated the 2023-24 season for Bayer Leverkusen and will be desperate to score and provide for his teammates in Group A. He costs only €7.5m, making him a must-have.
MF – Bruno Fernandes (€9m)
Bruno Fernandes loves to create scoring chances for fun and is someone who also likes to score goals himself for Portugal. He already has 22 goals and 20 assists for the national team in 67 caps. As many as 31% of fantasy managers have put their faith in the Manchester United skipper to shine at the Euros.
MF – Arda Guler (€6m)
Arda Guler is set to play a key role for Turkey at the upcoming 2024 UEFA European Championships. At €6m, he is an excellent choice for managers who are looking for a creative outlet who is not heavy on the pocket either.
MF – Bukayo Saka (€8.5m)
Bukayo Saka will be one of the major figures in England’s squad, as the 2020 edition’s finalists aim to go one step further this time. The 22-year-old comes at a €8.5m cost, but is a reliable bet considering he is a starter and loves to score for the national team, judging by his 11 goals and seven assists in 33 appearances.
MF – Jorginho (€5m)
Italy will be entering the tournament as defending champions and aiming to retain their title. Jorginho will be a key player for La Nazionale considering his deep-lying playmaking abilities. Furthermore, at €5m, he is a cheap option that can allow for more funds to be spent elsewhere.
FW – Romelu Lukaku (€9m)
Romelu Lukaku’s goalscoring feats for Belgium are known by all. He has an astonishing 85 goals and 17 assists in 115 appearances for the national team. The Red Devils are favourites to qualify from Group E which includes Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine. The striker can score plenty of goals and collect points for the fantasy managers who decide to put their faith in him.
FW – Kylian Mbappe (€11m)
Kylian Mbappe is the joint-costliest player in the fantasy league for the 2024 UEFA Euros for obvious reasons. Despite his €11m price tag, it would be a safe bet to include the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner in the squad. He enjoys a whopping 77% ownership in the 2024 Euros fantasy game.
FW – Harry Kane (€11m)
Harry Kane shares the tag of being the most expensive player in the 2024 Euros Fantasy Football with Kylian Mbappe. The England skipper is sure to score a bunch of goals and collect points for fantasy managers in the process. He is owned by 45% of the managers. He is the designated penalty-taker for the Three Lions and will be one of the candidates to win the Golden Boot at the tournament.
