Who will Neymar's Brazil face in FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage?

The Santos forward will be hoping to be called up for the World Cup squad.

Neymar maintains his focus on 2026 while confidently looking ahead. The Brazilian star is still hopeful about making it to the World Cup. He thinks his country can compete for victory once more despite recent defeats.

For players hoping to compete on the biggest platform in football, the countdown to the 2026 World Cup has already begun. Neymar is one of them; despite a patchy 2025 filled with injuries and little consistency, he still thinks he can make a comeback to the world stage with Brazil.

The former FC Barcelona player, who is currently playing for Santos, is aware that time is of the essence. His availability for the upcoming World Cup has been questioned due to physical concerns, but his public message has been anything but negative.

Neymar, on the other hand, has made it apparent that he believes Brazil can contend for the championship in addition to hoping to be there.

Neymar has continued to be involved in football-related activities, such as the Kings League, in recent days. He uses the competitive setting to express his excitement for the future. The attacker made a statement that immediately attracted notice after a recent competition in Brazil, when the host team won the prize.

“We’ve started 2026 on the right foot. Now it’s all about June and July. God willing, everything will go well and Brazil will be champions again,” Neymar said.

Neymar’s biggest obstacle is not just his physical condition but also the coaching staff’s decision-making. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has been adamant that only totally fit players will be considered for the World Cup, has not called up the Brazilian, who hasn’t played for the national team since 2023.

Neymar has limited room for mistakes in that position. As he strives to return to his best form and persuade the coach who prioritises consistency and physical dependability over notoriety, his return to action will be vital.

Will Neymar play for Brazil in the 2026 World Cup?

If only he is fully fit.

When was the last time he played for the national team?

He last played for them in 2023.

Who will Brazil face in the World Cup?

They will face Morocco, Haiti and Scotland in the group stage.
