Brighton injury update ahead of Manchester City clash in Premier League Gameweek 3

The Seagulls will host the Cityzens in their next league game.
Brighton & Hove Albion ran riot in their first EFL Cup 2025-26 game as they hammered Oxford United 6-0 in the first round of the competition.
It was their first win of the season, despite faring poorly in the Premier League, where they sit at 18th place in the league with just a point out of two matches.
Fabian Hürzeler’s next test is against a top side, Manchester City, in a league game on Sunday. Brighton will have to be more than ready if they are finally to clinch their first win of the season in the English top-flight league.
Brighton coach gives updates on injuries

Ahead of the game, Fabian Hürzeler has provided some updates as he is set to miss a slew of key players due to injuries and fitness issues. Speaking to the media, the Brighton coach said:
“Georgi (Rutter) wasn’t involved [at Oxford]. We would have liked to, so it might be that Sunday is a close thing. I am unsure.”
“Julio (Ensico) doesn’t have a big injury. He’s back in rehab training…”
“We will see what happens in the next days.”
“Solly (March) is doing well. I don’t say perfect. It’s going well, but there can always be things we can improve with him regarding his injury. It’s very important [that] he and us stay positive. I think there are some phases during a rehab where you are mentally down, where you have a setback, where you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Meanwhile, City are also coming into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. Therefore, they will be desperate to regroup for this game, looking to win this fixture. Brighton will need to be heavily prepared for this task.
A win against City can kick-start the new season as it will instil confidence in the players to push for more victories in the challenging matches ahead.
Who will Brighton face next?
Brighton will face Manchester City on Sunday.
Which players are injured?
Georgi Rutter, Julio Ensico and Solly March have been deemed not fit so far.
Where do they currently stand in the Premier League?
They are 18th in the league.
