The Gunners will be looking for a win to stay in the chase for the title.

After securing a wonderful result on New Year’s Day, Arsenal will travel to the Amex to face off against Brighton in matchday 20 of the Premier League. The Gunners are in top form and pulled off a brilliant result with a comeback win against Brentford in their last game. Having won all of their last four games, Mikel Arteta’s men are eyeing a fifth consecutive victory. They have been excellent this season but will need to stay consistent to fuel their title aspirations.

Brighton on the other hand are struggling to remain consistency this season. The Seagulls last won a game in November 2024, and are winless ever since. With five draws and two defeats in their last seven outings, something is not clicking for the Albions. However, they have been a formidable side at home having picked up three wins and five draws in nine games.

Kick Off

Saturday, January 4, 11:00 PM IST

Venue: Falmer Stadium

Form

Brighton (in all competitions): D-D-D-L-D

Arsenal (in all competitions): W-W-W-W-D

Players to watch

João Pedro (Brighton)

The Brazilian forward will be the man to watch out for Brighton coming into this fixture. He has been firing on all cylinders and has been the point of difference a lot of times. With four goals and five assists, Pedro has notched up nine goal contributions in the English top flight this season, including two assists in the last game. The 23-year-old is known for his versatility to operate as a winger, striker and also as an attacking midfielder as and when required.

Kai Havertz (Arsenal)

After missing out on the first game of the year, Kai Havertz will look to mark his return to the pitch with a match-winning performance against Brighton. The German forward has been one of the best players for the Gunners this season, especially in the absence of skipper Bukayo Saka. Havertz’s vision combined with his ability to perform well in high-pressure situations makes him one of the finest players in the league. The 25-year-old has scored 12 goals across all competitions, including two goals in the last two games.
